Janine is an associate at Law Brothers where she is passionate about advocating for her clients. She was born and raised in San Diego, California. Janine attended The University of Texas at Dallas where she earned a B.A. in Criminology with the goal of attending law school. At UTD, she became a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. During undergrad, Janine volunteered with Legal Aid to provide pro bono legal services to underprivileged litigants. Prior to attending law school, Janine worked as a paralegal for several years, gaining significant experience in civil litigation which further solidified her goal of becoming an attorney.
Janine earned her Juris Doctor from Ventura College of Law. While in law school, Janine became a certified law student where she gained court, deposition, and mediation experience. During her 2L year, she worked with Education Beyond Borders providing strategies to the United Nations for combating the COVID-19 pandemic and worked alongside El Pozo de Vida, a nonprofit organization fighting to eradicate human trafficking by developing strategies to protect vulnerable indigenous peoples in Mexico and Central America from trafficking. During her 3L year, Janine became a certified mediator and mediated several civil disputes throughout California and Texas. Janine also served as Vice President and Legal Advocate for Cultivé, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, providing high schoolers the opportunity to study abroad in sub-Saharan Africa and earn college scholarships.
Prior to joining Law Brothers, Janine gained experience litigating nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases.
