Kaya Mazon is an attorney at The Law Brothers, where she advocates for clients in personal injury, wrongful death, sexual abuse, and nursing home negligence cases. Kaya has built her career on representing everyday people whose lives have been upended by accidents, ensuring they receive the compensation and support they need to recover.
Her foundation in personal injury law began with cases involving auto collisions, premises liability, and bicycle accidents. She has handled everything from multi-vehicle crashes to unsafe property conditions and even complex claims involving cyclist-to-cyclist collisions. Kaya understands how profoundly these incidents can affect her clients’ lives—whether it’s losing the transportation they rely on for work or sustaining injuries that disrupt their income and stability. This early experience shaped her client-first approach, driving her to maximize recoveries quickly and efficiently while never losing sight of the human impact behind each case.
Over time, Kaya expanded her expertise to more complex and high-profile matters. She has represented survivors in sexual abuse cases against powerful institutions such as the Catholic Church, LDS Church, and Boy Scouts of America, bringing a strong voice to clients who often feel powerless. She also helped manage nearly 200 Roundup litigation claims, contributing to over $10 million in settlements, and played a pivotal role in the Illinois appellate case Laura Wong v. Midwest Gaming & Entertainment LLC., which clarified and expanded legal protections for victims of pervasive workplace sexual harassment.
A San Diego native, Kaya earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with minors in English and Sociology, from San Diego State University on a full-tuition scholarship. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was awarded both the Abraham Lincoln Marovitz Scholarship and a general academic scholarship that fully covered her tuition. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2019 after passing the Uniform Bar Exam.
Kaya’s approach to client service is straightforward and empathetic. She believes in simplifying the legal process so clients can fully understand their options, setting realistic expectations while keeping them informed at every step. To Kaya, every case is personal—her clients are never just files. She works to ensure they feel valued, heard, and supported throughout their case, while she fights aggressively to secure the best possible results.
Outside of the office, Kaya enjoys traveling, trying new foods, hiking, and attending concerts across a wide range of genres. She also loves reading and exploring topics like history, cooking, and nutrition. Family is central to her life: she has five younger brothers and is a proud mother to her one-year-old daughter, Rose.
Kaya is an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, and the Illinois State Bar Association. She has also contributed to community initiatives like the DuPage County Expungement Clinic through the Public Interest Law Initiative and looks forward to expanding her volunteer work in the future.
Grounded in empathy, honesty, and a drive to help others, Kaya brings both skill and compassion to every case she handles, fighting tirelessly to secure justice and restore stability for her clients.
